The Bowery Theatre presents a jam-packed diverse music showcase over two Fridays in May. Resonate – Bowery Music Series is a curated program showcasing some of Australia’s best contemporary music alongside our local and emerging artists. Resonate invites audiences to discover new voices, be inspired by songs, and find connection through sound.

Created initially as an online event series to engage with their community and encourage artists and audience connection, Resonate’s evolution has now become the music showcase hosted at the Bowery Theatre. Located within St Albans Community Centre (STACC), the Bowery Theatre is a hub for arts and cultural events, playing a vital role in supporting the arts in Melbourne’s western suburbs.

Local tastemaker MzRizk, and former Brimbank resident, has curated a lineup that is packed with some incredible local musicians and each night presenting a selection of emerging artists as part of the Resonate Youth Arts showcase. First up on Friday 17 May is Australian songwriter and storyteller Ziggo Ramo performing a very special set to launch his new book and album ‘Human?’ and projected illustrations. He will be joined by afro-funk powerhouse Cool Out Sun led by formidable N’Fa Jones, and Immy Owusu as a duo with father Kojo Noah Owusu. Keeping the energy high all evening is one of this generation’s most promising MCs Billali, and producer and percussionist Sensible J will keep you grooving between sets with his favourite funk and hip-hop beats.

She will be supported by local choir sensations HALO Vocal Ensemble, directed by group leader Liona Tatafu, and Palestinian Naarm based songstress YARA Bringing rich musical landscapes in between sets, event curator MzRizk will join the line-up as MC and DJ.
