2018 was a fine vintage for South Australia in general.
Matured in American hogsheads 250 Lt (38% new) a blend of 57% cabernet sauvignon and 43% shiraz,
The tannins in this wine glide over the palate with a silky plush texture. Intense dark plum and dark fruit flavours. All of this is dominated by the wonderful tannin structure that makes this young wine so approachable at this stage, too despite the fact the wine is on the full-bodied side. It is a joy and pleasure to drink.

Bin 389 Is called ‘Baby Grange’ for good reason!
Even a beginner could see and taste the sheer quality of the fruit blended with the stunning tannins running the full length of this wine. The other reason is that 389 is matured in the barrels used for the previous vintage of Grange.
The American oak used in the making of 389 has soaked up the fresh fruit tannins that will keep this wine alive for the next twenty years.
This wine will cellar for years to come – Drink by 2040 remember it’s under the stelvin closure.

the Rot has set in.
I enjoyed this wine with a Charcuterie board of black olives, mild salami, soft and hard cheese and of course warm crusty bread as I believe some times, simple food brings out the greatest enjoyment is good bottle of wine.
