Daniela Corso loves to dance … and sing.

So she’s excited … and ready to bring her powerhouse vocals and electric energy to La Di Da in Little Bourke St this Saturday night.

Corso will join DJ Johnny L as a guest artist to belt out a set of 90s anthems in a dance medley expected to fire up the Rhythm Nation event.

After years of working with live bands, her “love of dance music and a big beat’, sees her “heading in a new direction” and tackling the growing dance club scene.

Her collaborator Johnny L is well-established in the DJ club scene (Kiss FM, Viper Room). He’s the brother of Annemarie, whose group Slinkee Minx had a hit remix of Belinda Carlisle’s Summer Rain.

Together, they plan to conquer Melbourne’s dance clubs with Corso’s booming vocals and Johnny L’s seductive mixes.

And Corso isn’t stopping there. She’s just launched Corso Entertainment, her agency, providing bookings, promotions and videos for Melbourne DJs and dance club events.

She’s also working with experienced producers to release new dance club bangers over the next few months. Corso still misses her longtime bass player Paul Woseen (Screaming Jets) whose death last September jolted the music industry.

“Paul had such a passion for music and believed in me so much. He was very talented and his death made me realise how short life is, And that we do have to follow our dreams and do what we love.”

Corso is also a persuasive networker, recruiting artists Monique Brumby and Rob Farnham (John’s son) to join her in a live music fundraiser for the Les Twentyman Foundation in previous promotions. She also raised breast cancer awareness with her self-penned song Messenger to honour a friend who lost her battle with the illness.

But for now, she’s getting her dance shoes on. “This year is turning out to be a huge year and I’m excited to see how things unfold,” she says.
