Sydney’s Brit rock outfit deliver their most anthemic moment yet on a debut album opener that arrives with urgent clarity and a chorus built to outlast the night.
REFLEKTA have been earning their stripes the hard way since debuting in late 2025: energetic live shows across Sydney and regional New South Wales, a growing catalogue of emotionally charged Brit rock, and a run of streaming placements that includes Apple Music editorial support worldwide for previous single ‘Feel the Revelry’. ‘My Love’, the lead single from their debut album Way Back Home (19 June, Community Music/Unified Music Group), is the clearest evidence yet that the momentum is justified.

Opening with a high-energy guitar riff over heartbeat samples and emergency vehicle sounds repurposed as an entry point rather than an alarm, the track announces itself with purpose. Its chorus is built on a single repeated vocal line, the song’s title, delivered with the conviction of something that does not need to say anything more. Epic guitars, driving drums and a lead solo that traces the vocal melody give the track a range and emotional payoff that belies its straightforward construction.
The song was the last written for Way Back Home and was initially expected to sit deep in the tracklist. It ended up as the opener. That kind of instinct is audible throughout: there is nothing hesitant about ‘My Love’, from the guitar and bass interplay in the verses to the euphoric release of the chorus. The band describe the album as a record that spans love, frustration and a search for human connection in divided times. As an opening statement, ‘My Love’ is a deliberate act of optimism before the more searching material takes hold.
Fans of Oasis, Foo Fighters and the melodic ambition of New Order will find much to appreciate. Way Back Home is supported by a tour running June through to July, including an album launch at The Lansdowne Hotel, Sydney on 4th July.
Way Back Home is released 19th June via Community Music/Unified Music Group.
Stay tuned…
