Rising from the landscapes of South East Queensland to the pulsating heart of Australia’s rap scene, Milkah is set to make waves with her debut project, ‘Girls Like Me’, with intoxicating lead single ‘Crazy Star’. Known for her strong and seductive sound, Milkah combines catchy flows with clever lyricism, establishing herself as one of Australia’s most original female rappers.

Drawing influence from a diverse array of artists including Eminem, Britney Spears, Melii, and Dej Loaf, as well as the current American and U.K rap genres, Milkah’s music embodies a fusion of styles that is both refreshing and contemporary. Her journey into rap was sparked by her admiration for J Cole, Eminem, and Kendrick Lamar, and further fueled by her own poetry and journal entries.

Since 2019, Milkah has been making her mark in the Brisbane music scene, performing and releasing music that resonates with a broad audience. Her latest single, ‘Crazy Star’, is a testament to her growth and evolution as an artist. This rap-drill track, inspired by contemporary female rap icons like Ice Spice, Cardi B, and Stunna Girl, showcases Milkah’s commercial-ready flow and relatable rhymes.

“‘Crazy Star’ is about a man who is disloyal and other girls who are always trying to have a taste of what’s mine, just because it’s mine… I’m sure every girl has felt like fighting for what is theirs, but in the second verse, I mellow it out by talking about where I’m heading, almost to just leave it (and them) all behind. As for the title of the song, ‘Crazy Star’, I mean every icon I have ever looked up to has been somewhat different or labelled crazy, while probably just being misunderstood; I can relate to that.”

Produced by Yonda from the Gold Coast, the Jersey Drill beat of ‘Crazy Star’ provides the perfect backdrop for Milkah’s energetic and unique performance. The track is a powerful anthem about standing one’s ground and overcoming disloyalty, reflecting her personal experiences and resilience as both a person and as an artist.

Milkah aims to pioneer a new sound in her homeland, combining Jersey Drill with an intoxicating pop rap underbelly, creating an innovative sound that travels far and wide. ‘Crazy Star’ is just the beginning for Milkah, promising a year filled with more groundbreaking music from this truly exciting rapper.
