Today, Astral People announce the highly anticipated return of Summer Dance with a massive lineup for its first installment. After four long years, the legendary summer party series makes a striking comeback, arming itself with venerated dance heavyweight, Four Tet, along with one of club culture’s most invigorating superstars, Jyoty. On Saturday, 30 September, Summer Dance returns with a brand new format taking you from day to night, transforming Liberty Hall’s Courts into a sun-soaked dance oasis before moving the party inside after dark to keep the energy rolling.
Headlining the day party at the Courts, UK club music royalty, Four Tet, will take the stage with a wide palette of absorbing grooves and rhythms. With powerful releases like “Baby” & “Two Thousand and Seventeen” under his belt, Four Tet perfectly layers alternative dance breaks over vibrant influences from non-dance genres. It is with this imaginative approach to music that Four Tet has seen himself on some of the world’s biggest stages, including the viral 2023 Coachella headline set with Skrillex & Fred again.. With local special guests Evie and Ben Fester bringing the party home, this event is set to be an exciting summer blowout!
With a cult-like following stemming from her time as a host on Rinse FM, and viral Boiler Room set, Jyoty has established herself as a well respected and loved figure within the underground electronic music scene. With recent release such as the highlight popular Major Lazer’s “Designer” remix, Jyoty will no doubt be offering a high-octane set filled with hip hop, baile funk and UK garage heaters as she joins Summer Dance’s powerful line up whilst down under, as part of her Australia tour.
With a legacy of celebrating openness and ambition, the Summer Dance series has become a cornerstone in Sydney’s club scene since its 2015 debut. Eight years in and many sold-out seasons later, the summer staple grows bigger, better, and more iconic with each year. Summer Dance 2023/2024 will showcase electronic music’s most exciting talent over Sydney’s hottest months.
Curiously creative and matched with eclectic taste, Astral People are known for touring groundbreaking talent from clubbing institutions to the finest festivals around the country. Previous Summer Dance seasons were no stranger to this, featuring CC:Disco (AUS), Honey Dijon (US), Moodymann (US), Kornel Kovacs (SWE), Palms Trax (UK), Floating Points (UK), Hunee (KOR), Gilles Peterson (UK), and more! Astral People have toured international heavyweights in the past including Fred again.. (UK), Bicep (IRE), 100 Gecs (US), Yung Lean (SWE), Yunè Pinku (UK), Arlo Parks (UK), Stormzy (UK) and countless more. With over a decade of party planning and touring experience under their belt, this season’s lineup will be nothing short of spectacular.
