2020 INK writers announced

After careful consideration of the many exciting applications submitted, we are delighted to announce our 2020 INK playwrights. Each of these writers sparked our imaginations, we cannot wait to start working with them:

Mary Anne Butler
Ross Mueller
Emily Sheehan

Thank you to all the extraordinary playwrights who applied! We are humbled and astonished by the phenomenal quality of work submitted every year. We look forward to further collaborations with local writing talent through our INK programand on our stages (including 2 productions in our 2020 program developed through INK)!

Cromwell Road appeal

Our second theatre space at Cromwell Road is up and running (you may have seen our latest production, OIL in there)! We’ve put a lot of work and long hours into the substantial renovation…but we still have work to do.

Renovations will continue into 2020 as we build accessible entrances and toilets, and install heating and lighting and sound equipment, and generally give the place a new lease on life. But for this to happen, we need you.

Please help by making a donation for our fundraising appeal. Donations of any size can make a huge difference…

For every dollar you donate between now and February, Creative Partnerships Australia will match your donation through their Plus 1 programme.

Congratulations Declan!

Congratulations to Declan Greene on his appointment as Griffin Theatre Company’s next Artistic Director! Declan will be taking over from outgoing Artistic Director Lee Lewis in February 2020.

However, we are thrilled that before Declan makes the move to Sydney, he’s spending his time at our big little theatre. He is currently directing the Victorian Premiere of FEATHER IN THE WEB by Nick Coyle, which will be our first play of 2020!
Watch this space – you’ll be hearing more from Declan and about FEATHER IN THE WEB in the new year!
