Natasha Bianca is a name you should be aware of. Captivating the stage, and listeners, as well as growing her fan base with her dynamic vocals, emotionally resonating lyrics, and overall memorable artistry, she returns with her debut EP, SHE.

We sat down with this talented musician to learn more about what makes her tick, her approaches to the creative process and much more in this exclusive interview with TAGG!

Your debut EP, SHE, is a bold statement on female empowerment. Can you tell us what inspired you to create this project?

SHE initially started as just a single, but I quickly realised how much more it could become. I wanted to expand on the theme of female empowerment, drawing from situations I was experiencing at the time. I needed this song for myself and realised that others might need it too. It’s about breaking free from societal expectations and the “boys club” mentality, and owning who we are unapologetically. Through this EP, I hope to convey resilience and encourage women to embrace and redefine femininity on their own terms, celebrating the boldness of being a woman.

The themes of self-discovery and inner strength are central to, SHE. How do these themes resonate with your personal journey as an artist?

I had to go through a lot of self-discovery as an artist and as a woman to write about what truly matters to me. As a female artist, and in everyday life, women often face challenges that require extra vigilance, which isn’t fair. This inspired the themes of SHE, focusing on resilience and empowerment.

You’ve mentioned challenging the “boys club” mentality in your music. Can you share an experience that motivated you to tackle this issue?

A defining experience that motivated me to challenge the “boys club” mentality happened early in my career. I’d booked a studio session and found myself as the only woman in a room with about ten men—friends of the producer I was working with, who had invited them in. Instead of focusing on my music, they spent the time jamming to their own, leaving me feeling silenced in a session I’d paid for. I felt uncomfortable and couldn’t find the confidence to ask them to leave, and I also left the session with no music made. This, and similar stories I’d heard from other women in the industry, fuelled my desire to create SHE.

How do you believe music can be a catalyst for social change, particularly in terms of women’s empowerment?

I believe music can empower women by sharing our experiences and strengths in a way that connects with others. It sparks important conversations, challenges stereotypes, and brings us together.

With such a unique blend of pop and R&B, how would you describe your sound, and what influences your musical style?

I’d describe my sound as fierce, empowering, and unapologetically bold. I draw inspiration from artists like Beyoncé, Doja Cat, and Tinashe, who push boundaries and blend genres seamlessly.

Can you walk us through your creative process when writing songs for, SHE? What does that typically look like for you?

Each song has its own unique writing process, so I don’t follow a single approach. Sometimes we begin with production ideas and build melodies around that, while other times we start by discussing what I want to express and craft the song from there. It’s exciting because every time the outcome is different and brings something new to the table.

You’ve talked about using your voice as both a musical and social instrument. How do you balance entertainment with your message of empowerment?

For me, entertainment and inspiring change go hand in hand. Music is such a powerful tool to connect, uplift, and challenge norms, so I don’t separate the two. I aim to create music that’s enjoyable yet meaningful.

What message do you hope listeners take away from, SHE?

I hope listeners come away from SHE feeling empowered to embrace who they are unapologetically. It’s about resilience, self-worth, and breaking free from expectations. My hope is that SHE encourages especially women to own their individuality, find strength in their journey, and redefine femininity on their own terms.

Collaboration can be a powerful tool in the music industry. Are there any artists you’d love to work with in the future?

Absolutely! I think collaboration is key and there are so many artists that I’m keen to work with in future, both in Australia and internationally.

Your live performances are known for being captivating. What do you want your audience to feel when they see you on stage?

When I’m on stage, I want the audience to feel inspired, empowered, and connected. I hope they leave with a sense of confidence and motivation, feeling the energy of the music and the themes of SHE coming to life.

Can you share a particularly memorable moment from your career so far that reflects your growth as an artist?

The biggest highlight in my career so far has been creating my debut EP and self-funding my Australian tour—it’s been the biggest achievement of my journey. Another unforgettable moment was performing at the Listen In Festival in 2023. It was the largest crowd I had ever performed in front of, and the energy from that experience was incredible.

How do you approach the challenges that come with being a rising star in the music industry?

This is something I’m still trying to navigate, as there’s no rulebook in the industry and every journey is different. I just stay true to myself, trust my instincts, and focus on what I’m passionate about. Surrounding myself with a supportive team and learning from each experience helps me keep moving forward, even through the challenges.

What role do you think social media plays in shaping the careers of emerging artists like yourself?

I believe social media is so crucial for emerging artists. It allows us to connect directly with our audience and showcase our music on a global platform.

Are there any specific societal norms or stereotypes you aim to challenge through your music?

I aim to challenge the “boys club” mentality in the industry, where women’s voices are often overlooked or not taken seriously. My music is about empowering women to embrace their individuality and stand up for themselves.

Looking ahead, what are your hopes for the future of your career and the impact you wish to make in the music industry?

I aim to keep growing as an artist and continue pushing boundaries with my music while staying true to my message of female empowerment and self-expression, and I hope to spark conversations around safe spaces for females in the music industry.
