Relocating is never easy. Indeed, studies show that 30 % to 50% of movers end up regretting their decision. To prevent this, it helps to learn as much as possible about the place you are set to move to. This will help you figure out if it’s indeed an ideal place for you to be or not.

If you are looking to move to Australia but are unsure about where in Australia to move to, consider Western Australia.

Why? Here are five reasons why this should be your top pick.

1.  Friendly Folk

While Aussies are known to be a friendly, no-frills bunch, West Australians are even more so.

This might be partly because life is much more relaxed in Perth. One thing you will notice soon as you get to West Australia is the toned-down atmosphere. There is little traffic, and people don’t seem in a mad dash to get anywhere.

If you are dying to get away from the chaos of large cities, this might be a great place to study, work, and live.

2.  Great Place for Families

If you have kids or dream about having kids one day, you will love Western Australia.

Australia is known for its world-class education system. This brings in students from all parts of the world, creating a multi-cultural schooling environment, an added plus.

This is one of the benefits you can enjoy by settling in Western Australia. The state has a wide array of education options from elementary school all the way to university.

There is also the option of taking TAFE courses in Western Australia to learn new skills or when looking to update one’s skills mid-career. This aside, there is a multitude of recreation and entertainment facilities for young kids and teenagers. These range from water parks, activity centers, amusement playgrounds, sports centers, swimming pools, biking trails, and so on.

3.  Pristine Beaches

If being able to stop by at the beach and digging your toes in the sand is your thing, WA will leave you spoilt for choice.

Travel magazines often mention Western Australia as having among the best beaches globally, and it’s hard not to see why. Here, you find a haven of numerous pristine beaches. Contrast this with the sparkling blue waters and the blue skies, and you have a perfectly good reason to want to live in WA.

4.  Superb Climate

If harsh winters are really not your thing, this state should be an excellent fit for you.

WA, just like Queensland, gets more hours of sunshine than most other states in Australia. The weather here can be described as more Mediterranean than tropical. This means dry summers and wet winters and far much less humidity.

If you like the idea of your family in light clothes almost year-round, then WA deserves to take the top slot when picking an Australian state to relocate to.

5.  Good Job Prospects

WA is currently in a mining boom, making it Australia’s mining powerhouse. The state’s iron ore reserves in the Pilbara are a significant contributor to the economy.

This bustling economic activity means one thing: jobs. For mining-associated professionals and tradies, you are almost assured of a career boost by choosing to work and live in WA.

With the relaxed working culture in the state, you are bound to find yourself in an enviable, supportive, positive work environment.

Sounds Great?

If this sounds great, you should start packing already. However, you might need to do a bit more research to see if Western Australia matches your objectives of moving. Like anywhere else in the world, there might be some elements you might not like about the state but give or take, Western Australia is a great place to live in.
