On SEPTEMBER 12, 2024 at 7pm, prepare for an unforgettable evening as the JMQ Jazz Ensemble proudly presents a sensational performance featuring two of Australia’s most outstanding talents: the electrifying FEM BELLING renowned for her dynamic jazz vocals and masterful violin, alongside the superb JIM GLASSON, a top-tier alto saxophonist with an illustrious career. Rounding out the all-star lineup are Melbourne’s jazz heavyweights: NICK HAYWOOD (bass) TONY FLOYD (drums), MICHAEL HARDING (piano),and JOHN MONTESANTE trumpet and flugel.
 
This special event will take place at the cozy and vibrant GOLDEN GATE HOTEL in South Melbourne . 238 Clarendon St (cnr Coventry)
This evening’s jazz concert will be in the restaurant area on Ground Floor, due to large function upstairsEarly bookings recommended due to space.
 
Doors open at 6:30 PM for meals and beverages, which are available all evening. Live jazz kicks off at 7 PM. Plus, enjoy the convenience of free on-street parking from 6 PM too.

On September 19, 2024. JMQ Jazz night will showcase an incredible lineup of jazz talent – instrumental and vocal:
• CRAIG SCHNEIDER: A multi-award-winning jazz singer, pianist, composer, and bandleader known for his commanding presence and versatility. Craig has dazzled audiences globally and performed at prestigious venues like the Savoy and Claridges Hotels.
• LEE JONES: A British jazz guitarist and composer whose style blends modern jazz, fusion, blues, avant-garde, and rock. Lee’s impressive career includes collaborations with jazz greats and a recent release of his solo project, ‘A World Away’.
• TONY HICKS: One of Australia’s premier saxophonists and woodwind artists, Tony has played with international legends and worked extensively in musical productions and recordings. His decades-long collaboration with bandleader John Montesante is always a highlight.
They will be joined by esteemed Nick Haywood, Ryan Menezes, and John Montesante.🎶🎺

Mick created TAGG - The Alternative Gig Guide in 1979 with Helmut Katterl, the world's first real Street Magazine. He had been involved with his fathers publishing business, Toorak Times and associated publications since 1972.  Mick was also involved in Melbourne's music scene for a number of years opening venues, discovering and managing bands and providing information and support for the industry. Mick has also created a number of local festivals and is involved in not for profit and supporting local charities.
