Listen To Older Voices: Fred Holmes – Part 3

[vc_cta h2=”Welcome to Listen To Older Voices, a program produced by Rob Greaves and podcast through the Toorak Times and Tagg” style=”3d” color=”orange”][/vc_cta]
This is the 3rd and final part of the remarkable story of Fred Holmes. Now deceased, Fred through this program has shared his story of his triumphs and tragedies in literally a warts and all tale that reminds us of Australian’s from another era who truly helped shape this country.

In this final part of Fred’s story it is clear that despite some quite tragic moments he remained upbeat and positive in his dealings with the world and that he also had a wonderful attitude to life.

He shares stories of his work with the RSL, of his Christian beliefs and his concern for his fellow man. In fact it is fair to say all of his experiences and particularly his concern for his fellow man led Fred to an unshakeable belief in himself, his religion and his football team – The Saints.

Sit back and listen to a wonderful story as told by a wonderful man.

I have been with the Toorak Times since April 2012. I worked as Senior Editor of the Toorak Times until 2023, when I retired. I now work as a special features contributor for both the Toorak Times and Tagg. I've been in the Australian music scene as a musician since 1964, and have worked in radio and TV and newspapers (when they were actually printed on paper) as well as working in the film industry, as the Film Unit manager on Homicide for several years. I also have extensive experience in audio production and editing.
