Dear Bluesfest Family,

Experience the Ultimate Blues Day at Bluesfest Friday! If you’re a true Blues purist, Friday is the day for you, packed with an extraordinary lineup that celebrates the genre’s finest talent.

Leading the lineup is Gary Clark Jr., a modern Blues master whose electrifying guitar work and soulful vocals have earned him multiple Grammy Awards and fans worldwide. Known for blending Blues with rock, soul, and even hip-hop, his performances are both powerful and genre-defying.

Joining him is Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, hailed as the future of Blues. This young prodigy has been captivating audiences with his searing guitar skills and raw, emotional storytelling, making waves as one of the most talked-about Blues musicians of our time.

Also gracing the stage is Australia’s own Taj Farrant, the 15-year-old guitar sensation whose prodigious talent has taken the world by storm. His performances are rich with skill and passion far beyond his years, marking him as a rising star in the world of Blues.

Plus unforgettable performances by Lachy Doley Group, Here Come The Mummies, California Honeydrops, Marc Broussard, Ash Grunwald, Neal Francis, Roshani, Velvet Trip, Fools, The Memphis Three and many more.

This lineup represents the heart and soul of Blues, and single-day tickets for Friday are available now, don’t miss your chance to be part of this remarkable celebration!

Your support has been incredible, but with only three weeks to go, we’re still only halfway to our goal of 20,000 signatures. We urgently need your help to push this over the line. Thank you to those who have already signed and shared, it’s a crucial step towards securing the future of our iconic festival, but we need everyone to rally now more than ever.

Our local NSW State MP Tamara Smith has launched an e-petition calling for a NSW Government support package. If we reach 20,000 signatures, the NSW Parliament will be required to debate the future of Bluesfest. Time is running out, please help us reach this milestone by signing and sharing the petition today.

For those outside NSW, we’ve also launched a national petition on Change.org, which has already gathered nearly 5,000 signatures in under a week.

Why Should the Government Invest in Bluesfest?

Cultural Impact: A cornerstone of NSW’s cultural scene, showcasing global music talents.

Economic Benefit: The last decade has seen Bluesfest generate $775 million for Byron Shire from festival goers spending in the community on accommodation, restaurants, etc. Plus over $1.1 billion in inbound tourism for NSW (people travelling from outside NSW or internationally), supporting 7,182 fulltime jobs in the Northern Rivers and 25,000 music industry workers employed onsite at the festival.

Community Value: More than a festival—it’s a celebration of arts, driving regional tourism and local economy.

Tamara Smith urges NSW and Federal Governments to save Bluesfest. It’s vital for our community and cultural identity.

How You Can Help:

If you are located within NSW Sign the government E-petition:

Located outside of NSW Sign our new national petition through Change.org:

Tamara Smith MP: “We cannot afford to lose Bluesfest. It’s imperative we act now to preserve it for future generations.”

Thank you for standing with us. Together, we can secure the future of Bluesfest.

Cat Power Sings Dylan ’66
Thursday, 13th of March, 2025

Nearly 59 years after Bob Dylan’s iconic 1966 Royal Albert Hall Concert, CAT POWER will honor this transformative moment at The Green Room on Thursday, March 13, 2025.

Dylan’s switch from acoustic to electric mid-show sparked outrage from folk purists and forever changed rock ‘n’ roll. CAT POWER, also known as Chan Marshall, brings her own powerful interpretation of this historic performance with conviction and grace.

Her live album, Cat Power Sings Dylan: The 1966 Royal Albert Hall Concert, released in 2023, features classics like “It’s All Over Now, Baby Blue” and “Just Like A Woman,” alongside tracks from Blonde on Blonde. Don’t miss this spellbinding tribute to one of music’s pivotal moments.
