I have just received notice of the VJC AGM on 20 June. I urge VJC members to attend, because last year’s AGM almost lapsed due to lack of a quorum. Another reason for attending is that if there is an election for the Committee, members should vote for jazz music candidates rather than swing dancing candidates.
Also jazz music candidates are encouraged to stand for election. The VJC might only survive if jazz candidates become a majority. One of the current VJC Committee problems is sub-par selection of bands. In contrast, the East Malvern RSL has had a much better selection of bands with better attendances and revenue as a result.
