new online exhibition explores an iconic connection of bangarra dance theatre and the australian ballet

Dancers Jianna Georgiou and Madalene Macera are seen in a bedroom setting. Madalene holds a polaroid camera above her face, and both are looking towards the camera. In the bottom middle, singer and composer Carla Lippis is faintly visible in the reflection, suggesting the girls are looking out, while we are also looking in.

Private View: As part of Alter State 2024
2 – 6 October | The Show Room

Four Rooms. Four Diverse Experiences. You’re invited to become a voyeur.

Enter into a world of unspoken stories and secret longing. From Restless Dance Theatre, Private View is an immersive dance performance challenging preconceived attitudes towards sex and disability.

Having a physical or intellectual disability doesn’t change your sexuality or your desire to express it. Experience this groundbreaking and empowering work as it dismantles societal myths. Private View is performed by dancers with and without disability.
