June 24 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm AEST

FREE ENTRY | $20 CHICKEN & EGGPLANT PARMAS | $10 PINTS OF MOUNTAIN GOAT
Kick those Monday blues to the curb at Social Sanctuary – your weekly night of free live music at NSC. We’ve lined up a stellar roster of your fave local artists and some exciting new talents breezing through town!

Mountain Goat and Jack Daniel’s present a special edition of Social Sanctuary, with Billiam & The Split Bills, Rhysics and Tali & The Arms stopping by for a show.

Self described as the first “autism-core” artist, Billiam is a frantic, off the walls, 22 year old from Naarm who’s been yelling into mics since until his voice snaps since he was 16. Billiam has been unreasonably prolific with his brand of snotty and paranoid punk music with lots of synths, weird guitar riffs and warped sense of melody as he yells about Shadow The Hedgehog and Hall And Oates inspired nightmares. With the venerable Split Bills, they’ve scared stages and shaked support beams across Australia, leading up to a new LP on Legless Records this year.
Rhysics have built a reputation upon their unwavering ability to rock and roll every night of the week and Mondays are no exception. Come and behold a beloved Melbourne band deliver their powerful riffs, fun lyrics and terrible banter!
Tali & The Arms began as the solo project of Tali Harding-Hone (Dr Sure’s Unusual Practice, Dog Door et al). The Arms have been fleshed out with some of her oldest friends and collaborators Shelby Wilton (Muma Ganoush) and Nick Reynolds (Metdog). Tali & The Arms make dark, hooky outsider-pop/art-rock with a distinct Melbourne thread. Squalling distorted guitars spitting out venomous lines, hints of Rowland S Howard’s Fender Jag, blanketed in a sickly sweet vocal – like Julia Jacklin fronting The Drones. On their debut EP Tali & The Arms bust in the door with a smokin’ barrel, sharp shooters, with 4 tracks refined well beyond their years. Out on 7″ vinyl, November 17 via Marthouse Records.

Our show is being held on the lands of the Wurundjeri People and we wish to acknowledge them as the Traditional Owners of this land we are gathered on. We also pay our respects to their Elders, past and present, and Aboriginal Elders of other communities that may join us for our show.
