Introducing aakira fae, an emerging artist from Brighton UK who is brimming with an exciting otherworldly charm. Described as a ‘literal singing fairy,’ aakira’s music transports listeners into a dreamlike realm of alt-pop and neo-soul, where ethereal harmonies and melodies evoke the sensation of falling in love for the first time.

With her highly anticipated debut single, ‘butterflies’, aakira fae invites listeners on a mesmerising landscape of R&B-infused pop. The track captivates from the first note, as delicate guitar chords intertwine with aakira’s enchanting vocals, creating a sense of dreamy euphoria that lingers long after the song ends. It then continues to build with some luscious yet minimal percussion elements, that shape the story and sound around fae’s voice.

Produced in collaboration with her producer and friend Alex Collins, ‘butterflies’ is a first glimpse into aakira’s talent for crafting melodies that resonate deeply with the soul. Drawing inspiration from artists like Suki Waterhouse, Olivia Dean, and Arlo Parks, aakira fae infuses her music with a dreamy pop vibe and heartfelt lyricism that speaks to the transformative power of love.

Reflecting on the song’s inspiration, aakira shares “butterflies is about that feeling you get when you’re falling for someone, that feeling like you can’t get enough of them, thinking of them makes you a bit feral, that daydreamy floating away feeling with the ‘ahhhh’ makes it feel playful and youthful, like falling in love for the first time… the butterfly represents transformation, growth, change, as does the word ‘akira’, meaning dawn and rebirth.”

‘butterflies’ is a stunning debut from aakira fae, showcasing her unique and transcendent songwriting style that envelops the listener from the first second. Prepare to be swept away by aakira’s ethereal dosage of pop, in an artist who is certainly one to look out for in 2024.
