The Seven Ups ” A Free Blowing Wind” album launch
Heavy groove combo The Seven Ups are launching their 5th studio album, A Free Blowing Wind on Monday November 6th (Melb Cup holiday eve) on The Night Cats iconic 360° stage
The bands new album is a deep dive in to the lesser-known-places of instrumental music. Singles: Old World Monkeys and Monoliths are a mature take on the bands classic heavy-funk sound that has seen them become stalwarts on the Melbourne music scene over the last 13 years. Meanwhile, the band stretches out on the long-form instrumental tracks A Free Blowing Wind and A Cosmic Scale, taking listeners on a meandering journey from deep psychedelic grooves, to lush plateaus and onwards to aggressive fuzz rock.
Special guests on the night are kraut-rockers Brown Spirits and psychedelic-soul-combo Cantrips, plus Northside Records Chris Gill spinning vinyl between the bands.
