1000 Candles Pinot Noir Gruyere VIC – 2014 – $100.00

If I had not opened and poured the wine myself,  I truly would not have picked it as Yarra Valley.

1000 Candles Pinot Noir 2014. In the glass a dark plum, with a deep red fruit bouquet wafting slowly up from the glass.

Showing poached plum in syrup and kitchen spice, and an entrancing fruit aroma, that took me to places, well beyond the Yarra Valley.

The appealing mouth-watering flavours were derived from the rich flavour-filled purple plum fruit, with whispering acid and tannins that are interwoven into the lush core of the wine.

This has been a real wine-drinking experience for me as I don’t think I have tasted a Yarra Valley Pinot Noir at 9 years of age offering this level of quality before.

Had this wine been French I would have easily said Yes, only the French could have done it!

This is Australia’s Yarra Valley with a very impressive Pinot Noir, that is world-class!
