With a string of infectious tracks already released, London based indie-pop project Zoning Out returns with their catchy, and lyrically moving new single ‘Loosey-Goosey’!
When it comes to the origin of this new chapter, Zoning Out creator Lucas explains how “I wrote the song nearly two years ago when I was with my old band, and I noticed that one of my bandmates was playing really tight and was really stiff with his playing, so I told him to relax and I referenced Jack Black in School Of Rock, to be ‘Loosey-Goosey.’ As a result of this it evolved into being more about having a good time and being relaxed, AKA ‘Loosey-Goosey’!”
With its fun title listeners should not be fooled, as the lyrical content that runs through it hits a personal chord for Lucas, “The song is about trying to feel relaxed while overthinking, and having crippling anxiety, and trying to get away from ‘the massive overwhelming thoughts’ that creep up on you. In order to gain that sense of freedom of having no anxiety, one may drink and engage in other recreational activities, hence the term, feeling ‘Loosey-Goosey.’”
Taken from his addictive EP, ‘First Week On Meds’ his new single, ‘Loosey-Goosey’ shows an incredible evolution for Zoning Out as an artist. It’s a song that pulls you in with a catchy melody, which then reveals a crucial subject-matter. Lucas is able to put important songs like this together with ease, showing his natural talent as a songwriter, and ability to deliver a memorable anthem. Not forgetting to mention that Lucas does all of the recording & releasing in a completely independent way, again showing immense dedication to his craft.
‘Loosey-Goosey’ barely scratches the surface, when it comes to the material that Lucas has ready to share with the world. With over 50 songs waiting to be heard, Lucas has his eyes set on label support, and once that’s locked in, a whole new chapter of music will be unleashed upon all that wish to listen.
Zoning Out is an indie-pop project from a guy with ADHD and Autism who is just trying to keep focus. He has been consistently releasing new music this year and takes influence from Mac Demarco, Jack Johnson and Bob Dylan.
