WAM pitches for AFL Grand Final

WAM is deliriously excited the AFL Grand Final will be held at Optus Stadium.
It’s a golden opportunity to put WA music on centre stage, in front of a potential audience of 6.5 million viewers in Australia, and 30 million around the world, and something we could only dream of. It could be such a watershed moment for West Australian musical talent, which as we all know, is some of the best in the world.
It’s also a chance to applaud our contemporary music heroes alongside their peers in the sporting arena and create an historic moment that West Australians will remember with pride and affection.
WAM believes there is huge scope to put music at the heart of this event, beyond the televised pre-match and half-time entertainment – with performers on trains, at the Stadium Station, at post event entertainment, at the preliminary finals and the Brownlow Medal. This would mean showcasing the best regional artists alongside their metro counterparts, and emerging artists alongside their established peers. This could be the biggest moment for West Australian music we have ever seen!
This is the pitch we made to State Government, your move Mr McGowan.
