Tremorverse Records drops genre-exploring compilation album

“A beat driven pop from Melbourne producer Alex Garla. Soaring, sweeping, ‘No Love’ is solid bop with straight to the heart vocal”  Diamond Deposits

“Probably broke some records with the speed I hit play after reading your list of influences – Moses Sumney, Thom Yorke and Solange. this is magical, decadent, special and definitely contains all the best bits from those three icons. I’m seriously excited to hear what else is coming from Liv McLean.” ★★★★  Abby Butler, triple j unearthed

“The first seconds of the track bring such a mesmerizing light, it feels like a music box opening up. But then Abbie’s rich, heartfelt voice and the beautifully raw guitar add more depth to the composition. The warm textures and dreamy, almost illusory sound instantly create a charming, nostalgic atmosphere. On top of that, the layer of airy backing vocals is the brilliant creative choice that makes “Different Desire” stand out with its captivating aesthetics.”

Tremorverse Records is thrilled to reveal the entirety of their anticipated third compilation release with the ever-expansive, Tremorverse Three LP. Released through the label Friday 6 AugustTremorverse Three features previously lifted singles, ‘No Love’ by Alex Garla, ‘New Pair of Eyes’ by Liv McLean and Abbie CW’s recent stunner ‘Different Desire’ alongside other notable releases from some of Melbourne finest emerging musicians.
‘No Love’ is a self-written, self-performed and self-produced beauty from the rising young artist and brings together Alex Garla’s love of R&B and penchant for dank beats in an all encompassing groove bender. Inspired by an eclectic mix of R&B, neo-soul and pop/electronic artists such as SZA, H.E.R, Daniel Caesar, Frank Ocean and Kehlani, ‘No Love’ is an amalgamation of Garla’s immense musicality and diverse production skill.

‘New Pair Of Eyes’ highlights precisely what Liv McLean is known for; tight, flawless harmonies and warm, raspy vocals. In the shadow of a fractured world, Liv spent the majority of 2020 in incubation, developing her unique style and flourishing in creative growth. From writing and arranging new works, Liv recognises melodic phrases through her electric guitar and her vocals that create layering melodies and magical, eerie harmonies. Her flexibility to immerse herself into fusing and fine-tuning the world of psychedelic soul with jazz fusion is what makes Liv’s sound, and indeed ‘New Pair Of Eyes’, disparate from other artists’ work.

Inspired by the contrasting emotions and experiences that arise as a young woman in an ever-changing world, Abbie CW’s single explores the intricacies of identity, relationships and daily life through a light-hearted, honest lens. A siren song of beguiling orchestral folk that nods to the opulence of Weyes Blood with the theatrics of Aldous Harding or Kate Bush, ‘Different Desire’ is as weightless and uplifting as it is grounding and cathartic.
