We’re just three weeks away from opening the gates to Bluesfest 2025, and as I write this, the Bluesfest site is already coming to life. The Mojo and Crossroads stages are rising as we build our mini-city once again, a city filled with music, community, and unforgettable moments. I can feel the energy already, and I know many of you can too.
It’s no surprise that we’re now 95% sold out, with tickets flying out the door faster than ever. This is shaping up to be one of the most special Bluesfests in our history. If you haven’t yet secured your spot, now is the time. Don’t leave it to the last minute.
A few important updates as we enter the home stretch:
Car parking is almost completely sold out, and we expect it to be fully allocated very soon. If you’re planning to drive, this is your final call to secure parking. Better yet, consider carpooling with friends, it’s good for the planet and adds to the fun!
If you’re catching the Bluesfest Shuttle Buses, don’t forget: bus capacity is based on pre-purchased tickets, so it’s essential to buy now so we can ensure there’s space for you. Trust me, you don’t want to be left behind.
Also note that our Platinum upgrade is also hitting max capacity on Saturday and Sunday, if you want the ultimate festival experience for those days don’t wait.
For the families out there, we have an update on our Kids Zone with the timetable now confirmed and available to view. It’s a great addition to the festival and note for families still wanting to come Thursday is your day with plenty of kids tickets still available.
Finally for our season campers (4 day) we are announcing our special Wednesday night show. Noting you’re all more than welcome to come and setup on Wednesday with the delight of having a special show for you featuring The California Honeydrops, Don West and Electric Cadilac.
From tents rising to ticket types vanishing, the countdown is well and truly on. We’re building something magic together. Thank you for being part of it.
See you soon,
Peter Noble OAM

When we first began this journey 36 years ago, we were proudly known as the East Coast Blues and Roots Festival. While we’ve grown and evolved into the Bluesfest you know and love today—welcoming a wide range of genres—the soul of our festival remains rooted in the Blues and Roots that gave us our name.
And in 2025, we’re honouring that legacy in a big way.
Blues fans, take note.
This year’s lineup is packed with world-class Blues talent, starting with none other than George Thorogood & The Destroyers, whose unmistakable swagger and slide guitar on tracks like Bad to the Bone have made him a legend for decades. Joining him is Gary Clark Jr., a Grammy-winning modern Blues icon, whose blend of Blues, rock, and soul has taken the genre to new heights. Then there’s Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, the torchbearer for the next generation of Blues guitarists, bringing unmatched soul and technical brilliance at just 25 years old.
Representing Australia’s own guitar prodigy is Taj Farrant, a young star whose jaw-dropping skills have already seen him go viral and stand shoulder-to-shoulder with legends. And let’s not forget CW Stoneking, the enigmatic Bluesman with a vintage sound and storytelling style all his own.
Backing them up is a deep bench of Blues brilliance, including Lachy Doley, The California Honeydrops, Marc Broussard, Ash Grunwald, 19-Twenty, Neal Francis, Roshani, Melody Angel, Velvet Trip, Fools, Electric Cadillac, and The Memphis Three. It’s a lineup that would make any Blues aficionado’s heart race.
Now let’s talk Roots music—and what a lineup we’ve got.
Vance Joy, with his heartfelt songwriting and chart-topping hits like Riptide, leads the way, followed by the beloved Missy Higgins, who has been soundtracking Australian life with her rich, emotive voice for over two decades. Xavier Rudd, a Bluesfest favourite, returns with his powerful messages of unity and spiritual connection. RY X, the hauntingly beautiful Australian artist who’s conquered global stages, and John Butler, one of Australia’s most iconic Roots musicians, round out a top-tier Roots roster.
And that’s just the beginning. Also gracing our stages are The Cat Empire, Kasey Chambers, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Brad Cox, Fanny Lumsden, Melbourne Ska Orchestra, Here Come The Mummies, Allison Russell, Nahko, Pierce Brothers, Kim Churchill, Cimafunk, Clarence Bekker Band, Hussy Hicks, Don West, Sweet Talk, and The Steele Syndicate.
Over four unforgettable days, Bluesfest will deliver a masterclass in Blues and Roots music—featuring the best of Australia and the world, side by side. This is more than just a celebration of genre—it’s a celebration of our history, our heart, and our commitment to musical excellence.
There’s a reason why we’re Australia’s most awarded music festival.
And in 2025, we’re proving it all over again.

Thursday at Bluesfest marks the beginning of something truly special—a day that brings together families, music lovers, and festival-goers for a vibrant mix of genres, legends, and rising stars across our stages. If you’re planning to bring the little ones along, this is your best chance—Thursday is the only day with Under 10s tickets still available. Be among the first families to experience our newly upgraded Kids Area, built with fun, comfort, and creativity in mind.
Leading the charge are two of Australia’s finest. Ocean Alley, returning to Bluesfest after a six-year break, have become one of the country’s most-loved bands with their sun-soaked psychedelic rock and infectious grooves. Then there’s Tones and I, whose incredible journey from our very own Busking Competition to global chart-topper and now headliner is nothing short of extraordinary. Her return to Bluesfest is more than a performance—it’s a full-circle moment.
Also lighting up the stages is guitar revolutionary Tom Morello, whose genre-defying playing has left an indelible mark on music history. Joining him is Hawaiian reggae superstar Maoli, bringing island rhythms and soulful vibes to the Byron Bay crowd.

For the Blues lovers, you’re in for a treat with Christone “Kingfish” Ingram and Taj Farrant, two torchbearers for the next generation of Blues guitar, guaranteed to blow minds. Add in the soulful swagger of Neal Francis, the fiery energy of Melody Angel, psychedelic Blues-rockers Velvet Trip, and the groove-laden Electric Cadillac, and you’ve got one stacked day.
And if you’re coming to dance—don’t miss the high-energy sets from Here Come The Mummies, the silky vocals of Budjerah, the Afro-Cuban funk explosion of Cimafunk, festival favourites Pierce Brothers, and the smooth, upbeat vibes of Don West.
Thursday is packed with flavour, rhythm, and soul—and it’s just the beginning. Get in early, bring the kids, lace up your dancing shoes, and kick off your Bluesfest weekend in style.
