JOIN TWO COMEDY LEGENDS FOR A MASTERCLASS IN WINESPEAK

THE WINE BLUFFS

The Wine Bluffs is a show for comedy and wine enthusiasts alike, drawing on the pretentious nature of the industry in a light-hearted hour of hilarious entertainment. The show comes to Gasworks Arts Park for two nights only on Friday 26 & Saturday 27 AprilThe Wine Bluffs shines a spotlight on the ever-present issue of wine snobbery and the duos wicked humour always leaves the audience laughing in their seats.

Bask in the comedic genius of Damian Callinan and Paul Calleja as they take you through the ropes of wine jargon and how to successfully bullsh*t about wine. Fresh from judging the Fruit Wine Section at the Rockhampton Show, the duo dishes out their outlandish and somewhat obscure wine knowledge all within an interactive performance environment. Expect big laughs, some crude humour and lots of wine. Be warned, you will be called out if you are judged to be the biggest ‘Wine Wanker’ in the room.

The Wine Bluffs is not just a show for those who love wine as Calleja states, “If you know what BWS stands for then you’re qualified to come. Beer Wine and Spew is not the answer.”

Don’t know how to match food to wine? Watch as Calleja expertly matches Chiko rolls to a Vintage Shiraz and Fairy Bread to a Chardonnay whilst Callinan uses his psychic ability to gage individuals ‘Wine Aura’.

‘They were terrific. VERY funny and had everyone laughing, some at their own expense!’ – Alex Morello

The duo are widely known amongst the comic community and their collaboration has proved to be a hit amongst audiences across the country. Callinan is a multi award-winning stand-up comic, actor and writer. He is best known for his writing for Before the Game, appearing on Spicks and Specks and his involvement in the Melbourne Comedy Festival Gala. Calleja is a much sought after comic writer who has a long-standing career in both TV and Radio. He is renowned for his wit and ability to hilariously engage a wide audience all while using his reasonable logic to come to bizarre conclusions.

Due to strong themes regarding alcohol consumption and strong language, this is an 18+ performance.

The Wine Bluffs is part of Gasworks Arts Park’s Moving Parts season.
