MEMO Music Hall Live Streams

Supporting Australian artists and keeping music LIVE

The Ultimate ABBA Pyjama Party presented by BABBA – 6 June 2020

St Kilda’s iconic MEMO Music Hall continues its very successful run of 100% Live Stream concerts, supporting Australian musicians financially and delighting music lovers of all genres, with The Ultimate ABBA Pyjama party presented by BABBA on Saturday 6 June at 7.30pm.

Reliving the ABBA experience for “Dancing Queens” of all ages it’s a great excuse to emerge from hibernation by inviting your besties over… in their PJs of course, grabbing a bottle or two of bubbly and getting ready for BABBA to take you on a spell-binding journey of all their hits.

Benny, Bjorn, Agnetha and Frida have returned (with the help of a cryogenic freezer and some cosmetic surgery) to transport you back to the 70s with a show full of humour, great costumes, Swedish accents and fun-filled dance floor action – All enjoyed in the comfort of your own living room.

For 26 years BABBA have performed all over Australia, Asia and New Zealand to sold out audiences and rave reviews. All their career highlights are in the attached Highlights Sheet. Founding members James Macdonald – Bjorn & Michael Ingvarson – Benny are available for interview about the incredible success of BABBA.

ABOUT MEMO 100% LIVE STREAMS

MEMO was the first, and is still the only, contemporary music venue in Australia streaming concerts with professional camera and sound – courtesy of MEMO’s partnership in the venture with Renegade Films the makers of RocKwiz. Together they are bringing the immediacy of live performance into houses all over the country with exceptional quality sound and vision mentioned in rave reviews.

Co-Venue Manager Simon Myers said,” Although there is a plethora of free music now being streamed online, MEMO remains committed to providing a source of income for artists who have very limited income, if any, from performance opportunities at this time.”

“We are also dedicated to providing sound and camera expertise that respects the talent and professionalism of the artists, and gives audiences a quality visual experience like nothing else available right now.”

“The proceeds of each Live Stream are split between MEMO, Renegade and the artist, and provide income for many affiliated industry professionals hit very hard by COVID-19 restrictions.  The live music industry was amongst the first to fall and may well be the last to recover. We are really urging music lovers across the nation to support artists by purchasing a ticket to these Live Streams.”

MEMO’s Live Stream concerts kicked off with Kate Ceberano & Co. and The Black Sorrows in April, followed by Renee Geyer, Here’s To The Ladies featuring stars of musical theatre, Rhonda Burchmore (Mamma Mia, Mame), Alinta Chidzey (Chicago, West Side Story), Lucy Durack (Wicked, Shrek), Amanda Harrison (Wicked, We Will Rock You), and Queenie van de Zandt (Funny Girl, Thoroughly Modern Millie), and Sunshine Disco Faith Choir,  Horns of Leroy and BOWIE: Golden Years.

Given the size of MEMO Music Hall, which is 750 metres square, musicians are able to perform on the grand Art Deco Proscenium Arch stage the required 2 metres apart, meeting current Government indoor workplace social distancing guidelines.

Tickets for are available at www.memomusichall.com.au and are $12. Digital Doors at 7 pm and show from 7.30 pm to 8.30 pm.
