A Night With TINA – A Tina Turner Drag Cabaret – Sat 17 Aug 2024, 7:00PM
Last Saturday night at MEMO Music Hall, the Tina Turner Drag Cabaret show was nothing short of spectacular. The performance was a whirlwind of energy, as Tina and her dancers set the stage ablaze with hit after hit, each number more dazzling than the last. With numerous costume changes and a vibrant display of colour and movement, the full house was on its feet, utterly captivated.
The excitement in the room was palpable—reminiscent of the electric atmosphere when Divine made his Tropicana debut in ’84. This ensemble of performers didn’t pause for a moment throughout their breathtaking, high-energy show. Even when Tina lost her wig mid-performance, the audience erupted in laughter. Still, ever the consummate professional, Tina continued with “What’s Love Got to Do with It,” commanding the stage like the true queen she is.
The crowd’s enthusiasm was insatiable, demanding encore after encore. Fans eagerly lined up for selfies with the entire cast, and Tina was always absolutely fabulous. This show was a resounding hit, and I highly recommend catching it the next time it rolls around.
The lighting and audio production were flawless, with not a single glitch throughout the night. The diverse audience—ranging from teenagers and young sophisticates to Boomers—attested to the show’s wide-ranging appeal. It successfully engaged both the general public and the LGBTQ community, making it a must-see event for everyone.
Fabio Cattafi was simply the best in his performance as Tina!
