The Substitutes
The Substitutes are Melbourne’s finest and most authentic 60s band and for the very first time they have added five extra musicians to enable them to fully explore the weird, wild and wonderful music of the period 1965 to 1970. And dancing is permitted!

Bringing this EXTENDED big band to MEMO, THE SUBSTITUTES celebrate 60s music with respect to the original artists, producers and arrangers. Playing hits from artists such as THE YARDBIRDS, SMALL FACES, THE ANIMAL, THE KINKS and THE WHO just to name a few, this is a night for all 60s fans

The sheer variety of music and music styles that were created or evolved in that time means they are riding on the shoulders of the Giants who shaped popular music for the next 50 years. The Substitutes cover music in the styles/genres of Mersey Beat, Mod, Soul, Psychedelia, Beat, Pop, Freakbeat and of course Rock.
