Lithuania’s boundary-pushing pop trio THE ROOP return with “Just Think About It,” a hypnotic, late-night confessional that drifts somewhere between the surreal and the imaginary. Built on pulsing synths, shadowy textures, and a magnetic emotional pull, the track marks a deeper, darker turn for the band as they prepare for their newly announced international tour in 2026.
The release arrives after an especially eventful chapter for the band. Fresh off opening for Ed Sheeran’s 2024 stadium tour, THE ROOP step back into a sonic space longtime fans will instantly recognise — the moody, soul-baring terrain reminiscent of their breakout hit “Discoteque.” Yet “Just Think About It” is quieter in its revelations, exploring the questions we avoid when life moves too fast: What do we long for? What have we forgotten? What are we afraid to admit?
The track was conceptualised far from the buzz of city life. The band set up a makeshift recording studio deep in the woods, surrounded by forests, quiet, and the kind of darkness that encourages honesty. Much of the songwriting unfolded after long, late-night conversations and the heavy silence that follows the moment you finally stop talking.
“The song raises questions about humanity — why do we need human touch? Why do we forget our dreams? How do we stay human in a digitalised world?” the band shares. These themes carry into the music video, filmed at night in Berlin. There, the band confronts their digital replicas, navigating a neon-lit maze of artificial identity and simulated selfhood. Influences of The Matrix and Terminator shimmer subtly throughout — not as spectacle, but as philosophical texture.
With crisp dance-pop sensibilities, emotional depth, and a bold visual identity, THE ROOP has become one of Europe’s most magnetic and forward-thinking pop acts. Their sound is instantly catchy yet artfully layered — a hybrid of sleek pop, expressive choreography, and strong conceptual storytelling.
They first went global with “On Fire” (2020), an electrifying Eurovision fan-favorite that topped charts and alternative contests across Europe. Their 2021 entry “Discoteque” earned an 8th place finish at the Eurovision Grand Final and introduced their genre-bending style to an even wider audience. The momentum continued into 2024, where they brought their stadium-ready charisma to stages across Europe on Ed Sheeran’s tour.
Now entering a new era with their 2025 album Momentum, THE ROOP refine their identity with even greater emotional resonance. Lead single “Steal Me” pulses with retro-futuristic tension; “Chica Chico” infuses Spanish rhythms and Feria de Abril vibrance; and “Just Think About It” adds a darker, more introspective cut to their evolving vision.
With a rapidly expanding global fanbase and a creative world that’s as visually compelling as it is sonically rich, THE ROOP continue to reshape what modern pop can look, feel, and sound like — without ever losing the beat.
