Mick created TAGG - The Alternative Gig Guide in 1979 with Helmut Katterl, the world's first real Street Magazine. He had been involved with his fathers publishing business, Toorak Times and associated publications since 1972.  Mick was also involved in Melbourne's music scene for a number of years opening venues, discovering and managing bands and providing information and support for the industry. Mick has also created a number of local festivals and is involved in not for profit and supporting local charities.

Over 45 Volunteers came on this beautiful day to clean a beach

It was great to see so many people come out on Sat.  It was a great crowd as you can see in the picture above.
A cruise boat docked about the same time with a lot of Americans on it.  As the walked past they asked what we were doing or stopped and read the A Frame board we had up. One couple even said can you come back to the States and do this over there.

82 bottles and cans were picked up.

4 syringes and about 20 bags of rubbish

Thanks to all at the end who helped with the sorting and clean up.

Now for something special!   Recall last year we had that great film evening showing documentaries about Port Phillip Bay.  AS good as they were we are now going to show a truly amazing film about the Worlds oceans, its wildlife and the impact of plastic.

Award winning film released last year.  A must see for all to see our oceans wonders and the risk we are putting it to.  Spectacular photography and narration from a wide range of people, scientists, local villagers in the Pacific Islands,  people in India, USA, UK, Australia and more.

f you have not had enough, and you lie awake at night thinking about litter, then you might like our newLoveOurStreet 3207.    Here we pick up some litter from the streets back from the beach with the intent of it not getting to the beach.  Every month we’ll target hot spots around the neighbourhood.  Then have a cuppa at one of cool neighbourhood cafes.    Oct21st.   9:30 am.  More info sent out later in the month.
