Supporting charities and good causes makes you feel good. Right? Well-known comedian and supporter of Space2b, Judith Lucy agrees: “Space2b is just around the corner from me. Getting involved with them has genuinely made me feel less crap as a human and god knows, that’s not easy.”

Space2b is an art and design social enterprise supporting people seeking asylum, refugees and newly arrived migrants, become financially independent. Space2b is a community art hub with retail space and cafe, providing workplace training and business mentoring. It is a special space where everybody can come together to build relationships and connections.

To help Space2b remain financially sustainable, Colin Lane (Lano & Woodley) will host ‘Stand-up for Space2b,’a night of stand-up comedy and music featuring the brutally honest, devastatingly hilarious, Judith Lucy along with 2019 Melbourne Comedy Festival Most Outstanding Show nominee and 3RRR Breakfaster co-host Geraldine Hickey and Danielle Walker winner of Best Newcomer Award at the Melbourne Comedy Festival in 2018. Melbourne’s favourite genre-bending musical chameleons, Eugene Hamilton and The Money will take us on a funkified, countrified, Latin, soul, boogaloo joyride that guarantees to fill the dance floor.

It’s all happening at MEMO Music Hall, 88 Acland Street, St Kilda on Thursday 31 October 2019. Doors open at 7 pm.

Space2b co-founder, Janine Lawrie hopes this event will help raise funds to help with a building upgrade and assist with future workshops in the St Kilda Chapel Street headquarters.

Judith sums up the night beautifully: “What the people at Space2b do is really top-shelf, so please come along to ‘Stand-up for Space2b’, laugh, dance and basically feel less like an asshole!”
