Welcome to Luna Live’s December newsletter! We’ve hit the ground running and have loads of great shows coming up!

First up, we’re excited to be presenting a run of Victorian shows by much-loved Australian singer-songwriter Sarah Blasko, who is touring on the back of her recently released ninth album I Just Need to Conquer This Mountain. Sarah’s performances are always intimate and compelling, and she’ll be visiting regional Victoria from the end of February through to the end of Match. Tickets go on sale on the 13th of December at 9am. This will sell out….be quick!

April sees another short run from WA’s legendary garage-rockers/power-poppers The Stems. Dom Mariani’s group have been internationally revered since the mid-’80s, and extensive Australian and European tours mid this year served to remind everybody what a great band they are. Of course, they feature the great Ashley Naylor on lead guitar these days – in between his commitments with the Church, Paul Kelly, RocKwiz or doing his own things – so I don’t think anyone is going to dispute the fact that they’re at least as great as ever! The Stems’ short East Coast run is centered around an appearance at the Hunter Valley’s fabulous Gumball Festival.

Victorian legends the Black Sorrows, fronted as ever by the great Joe Camilleri, are this year celebrating their 40th anniversary and now touring on the back of their acclaimed new album The Way We Do Business. One of the great live acts, with an unending repertoire of classic songs, they’ll be playing an already sold-out show in Birregurra in January and The Round in Nunawading in Feb.

We already mentioned the great Barry Adamson in a standalone email recently. Much-loved in Australia since his days playing bass for masterful post-punk outfit Magazine, Barry solidified ties with the Antipodes with stints in both the Birthday Party and Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds early on. He’s a Mercury Music Prize-nominated artist in his own right, has worked with filmmakers including Derek Jarman, David Lynch, Oliver Stone and Danny Boyle, and never fails to put on a powerful show. Barry and band will be here in March, and we’re thrilled and honoured to have them as out first international act.

In addition to all of these new announcements, don’t forget we have shows by both Tim Rogers and Ross Wilson & the Peaceniks on the horizon. You’ll find full details of everything below.

Please share this newsletter with your friends, hit us up with any questions or suggestions, and we’ll see you at a gig soon.

The songs Tim Rogers writes are a soundtrack for a lot of lives of others too. Don’t miss these special Holiday shows with Tim in an intimate, raw and live performance to remember all summer long and probably for years to come.
