Storehouse St Kilda

Robert-Delves-LogoJoin us for drinks to meet the artist at our St Kilda Store.

An exhibition of Sculpture, Ceramics and Drawings by Melbourne artist Robert Delves. Urban and simplistic human forms and interactions represented in clay and ink.

The stroke of black ink to imply purpose, the rough pressing of clay to signify attitude, the raw edge of paper to note clear endings.

All are aspects of Roberts diverse yet cohesive body of work on which we are focussing for the month of July.

Robert is a Melbourne based sculptor who has been practising for over thirty years in a variety of media. He holds Fine Art Degrees from RMIT and VCA.

Delves has participated in many important solo and group exhibitions including the Montalto Sculpture Prize exhibition, Yering Station Sculpture exhibition, Contemporary 2, Docklands and the McClelland Gallery Grounds for Sculpture exhibition.

Recently a finalist in the Deakin University Contemporary Small Sculpture Award 2017.

In 2008 he was the recipient of the Riddoch Gallery Wood Sculpture Aware and the Yering Station Sculpture Award.

In 2009, Delves won the Prometheus Visual Art Award. Yering at Heidi Sculpture award in 2012.  Dame Elizabeth Murdoch Sculpture award 2013 exhibited at Heidi Sculpture park in 2013.

Robert Delves’ sculptures are part of a high-profile public, corporate and private collections in Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, UK and the USA.

The Storehouse - Artisan Lifestyle Store - in Koonwarra was opened in its current form in early 2014, having originally been the residence for the Koonwarra Store, thus our name. We subsequently expanded to St Kilda in 2017. Whilst quietly reflecting our communities, our intention is to be highly discerning in our selection of unique products that have real value and are made with integrity, including clothing, accessories, furnishings, homewares, gifts and fine art. We offer pieces, designed and handmade in the Storehouse using local materials through to pieces crafted by nearby artisans or produced by small family businesses in Melbourne, also products we believe, simply, to be of the highest quality and to which we have a connection. Our entire fine art collection is created by exceptional, internationally recognised local artists. We always consider why, where and how our products are made. Everything we offer is intended to become a favourite and used for a lifetime. 'TJHB Custom made and Wholesale' is also found in the Storehouse building. We design and create furnishings, lighting and homewares which fit perfectly with the ideals of the Storehouse. Each piece is unique, simple, elegant and made locally using local materials.
