Peter Mahony has been leading the Powerhouse’s Education and Digital Learning Team for 26 years. Join us to draw on his wealth of knowledge and experience in this webinar. Each year, Peter’s team engages with hundreds of school groups in onsite and offsite learning and engages with the Museum’s collection through authentic and immersive learning experiences in Science, Technology and Design.

To scaffold learning within the museum context, the Education team is encouraged to practice and engage with visible thinking strategies. Visible thinking strategies are aimed to encourage creative and critical thinking routines and were developed across a number of research projects at the Harvard University Graduate School of Education’s Project Zero. Visible Thinking strategies are a set of questions or a brief sequence of steps used to scaffold and support student thinking.

In this webinar hear how you can successfully use Visible Thinking Strategies for any of your programs or engagements with individual visitors or school groups to create an interactive and long-lasting learning experience.

The 30-minute online talk will be followed by a Q & A session.
