London-based electronic duo Red Mercury, consisting of producer Steve Gregory and vocalist/writer Isobel Crawford, return with their most immersive release yet, ‘People are to Love’.
Blending drum & bass, techno, and widescreen electronic textures, the duo pair tactile, modular synth-driven production with compelling vocal hooks and emotive storytelling, moving seamlessly between high-energy club intensity and cinematic atmosphere.
The single features Hong Kong-based DJ and producer Gargoyle Girlfriend (Rachel McInerney), whose ethereal vocals and cyberpunk-inspired lyricism complement Red Mercury’s sound. Drawing from personal experiences of relocating to new cities, the track captures the thrill and disorientation of unfamiliar surroundings, layering narrative depth over festival-ready energy.
Built almost entirely on modular synths, ‘People are to Love’ fuses cinematic techno with progressive house influences, evoking artists such as BT, Boris Brejcha, and Sub Focus. Designed to transport listeners through a futuristic, dystopian soundscape, the track balances immersive atmosphere with irresistible dancefloor drive.
Red Mercury continue to expand their global reach through DJ sets across the UK and Asia, while pushing the boundaries of forward-thinking electronic music. With a follow-up already in progress, the duo promise further explorations of their signature emotive EDM style.
