Recitals Australia‘s second Adelaide concert for 2019 features Andreas Ottensamer, acclaimed principal clarinettist of the Berlin Philharmonic, performing in recital with Australian pianist Alex Raineri.
Andreas Ottensamer has captured audiences and critics alike with the singular beauty of tone that he coaxes from the clarinet.

The concert program includes a selection of Mendelssohn ‘Songs Without Words’, Brahms Intermezzo, Debussy Premier Rhapsody, Gershwin 3 preludes and Horowitz Sonatina.

Andreas Ottensamer performs as a soloist and chamber musician throughout the world with orchestras such as the Berlin Philharmonic, the Vienna Philharmonic, the Konzerthausorchester Berlin under distinguished conductors including Sir Simon Rattle, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Andris Nelsons, Pablo Heras-Casado and Alan Gilbert. His artistic partnerships as a chamber musician include work with Murray Perahia, Leif Ove Andsnes, Leonidas Kavakos, Janine Jansen, Sol Gabetta and Yo-Yo Ma. Together with pianist José Gallardo, he is Artistic Director of the Bürgenstock Festival in Switzerland.

Australian pianist Alex Raineri is an active recitalist, concerto soloist and chamber musician. Limelight Magazine describes him as ‘a soloist of superb virtuosic skill and musicality’. International performances include tours throughout California, South-East Asia, United Kingdom, Ireland, New Zealand, Germany and Austria. Alex has been broadcast on BBC Radio 3, Radio NZ, California Capital Public Radio, ABC Classic FM and the Australian MBS Networks.
As a concerto soloist, he has featured with the Queensland, Tasmanian, Darwin and West Australian Symphony Orchestras, Southern Cross Soloists, Orchestra Victoria, Four Winds Festival Orchestra, Bangalow Festival Orchestra and the Queensland Pops Orchestra. Alex has been the recipient of a number of major awards including the Kerikeri International Piano Competition and Australian National Piano Award.
The concert will be held on Saturday 11 May at 2.30pm in the Ukaria Cultural Centre, 119 Williams Road, Mt Barker Summit.
