Port Phillip Council is asking residents to follow COVID-19 precautions at public immunisation sessions.

“Immunisation is a powerful way of helping protect every member of our community from a range of diseases,” Mayor Bernadene Voss said.

“We have changed the venues and spacing so this vital vaccination program can continue for our community.”

Until further notice, all sessions are at the St Kilda Town Hall Auditorium or the South Melbourne Community Centre.

Council asks that only one parent/guardian accompany the child to vaccinated.

Government spacing requirements of four square metres per person have been implemented and clients must practice social distancing while waiting.

To help avoid the spread of COVID-19, people MUST NOT attend an immunisation session if:

  • They or their child have returned from overseas in the past 14 days or been in contact with a known case of COVID-19 within the past 14 days OR
  • Have a fever, sore throat, shortness of breath or a cough.

For more information about the sessions, go to: http://www.portphillip.vic.gov.au/immunisation.htm

People with those symptoms should contact their doctor by telephone or the 24-Hour COVID-19 hotline on 1800 675 9398.
