There is something for everyone in Bayside Gallery’s two new exhibitions opening tomorrow.

Come and immerse yourself in the creative life of Melbourne-based artist Meredith Turnbull in her solo exhibition Together and learn more about Bayside City Council’s Art and Heritage collection in Collection highlights and recent acquisitions. We also have a dedicated space for children to create their very own artworks to be displayed in the Gallery and take-home craft packs.

Meredith Turnbull: Together

Exhibiting now at Bayside Gallery until 1 May.

A major solo exhibition presenting new and recent works by Melbourne-based artist Meredith Turnbull who works freely across the mediums of sculpture, photography, jewellery and video. Together acknowledges the many ways in which anyone might seek a creative life, to feel and make meaning, however they choose. Several are collaborations with both Turnbull’s daughter and mother.

Collection highlights and recent acquisitions

Exhibiting now at Bayside Gallery until 1 May.

Historical and contemporary artworks from the Bayside Art and Heritage Collection are on show including several recent gifts such as Port Phillip Bay evening (c. 1983) by Arthur Boyd, and a significant purchase, Duck and quail eggs, Italian herbs (2015) by contemporary artist Stieg Persson. Stay tuned for more information about our special programs including a talk by senior artist Craig Gough about his painting Sandringham 20 (1983).

Adrian Spurr: Relics

Exhibiting now at Billilla Mansion gardens until 29 May

Sculptor Adrian Spurr has created a series of carved stone sculptures now on display in the historic Billilla gardens. The three large stone sculptures titled Melbourne Zeus (2017–22), Sphinx prior (2017–22) and Zephyr (2022) were worked on by Spurr during his time at Billilla’s old coach house as a Billilla Studio Artist throughout 2020-21.

Mick Pacholli

Mick created TAGG - The Alternative Gig Guide in 1979 with Helmut Katterl, the world's first real Street Magazine. He had been involved with his fathers publishing business, Toorak Times and associated publications since 1972.  Mick was also involved in Melbourne's music scene for a number of years opening venues, discovering and managing bands and providing information and support for the industry. Mick has also created a number of local festivals and is involved in not for profit and supporting local charities.
