REGION: Galicia – Spain
APPELLATION: Rías Baixas
Made from a tiny parcel of fruit that was almost forgotten about until Alberto and Silvia discovered this small plot of fruit, the wine was foot stomped as depicted on the label and as they say, the rest is history.
On the nose: black olives, cherry notes, dark plum, dried herbs, all rather inviting.
In the mouth: Fresh bright acidity, crunchy on entry, not overly sweet, washed with earthy herbaceous notes of dark berries, Raspberry, Strawberry, Mushroom, hints of Orange peel.
I personally have been drinking imported wines most of my life, so I am inclined to appreciate the earthy, robust, sometimes tannic wines. Wine that at the end of the day requires food in order to be appreciated; this is such a wine.
This wine will appeal to a wide range of people over a meal, any roast will do the trick be it beef or pork a lamb casserole something hearty.
I prefer to enjoy this tapas style, just bits and pieces with lots of crusty bread.
