Pinot Noir is one of the world’s most popular red wines.
A black-skinned grape that thrives in cooler climates.
Just like Gippsland, which is well known as one of Victoria’s best cool climate regions.
When done right, it produces a lighter-bodied red wine of elegance and complexity with good oak tannins and sometimes sharp acid that can add to the drinking pleasure and subsequent long life of this wine.
Studebaker Pinot Noir has savoury hints mid palate with a smooth palate washed with red fruits like raspberries and strawberries with hints of spiciness on the clean finish.
The wine is medium-bodied, not overly sweet as one would expect, from the bright acidity that is in balance with the fruitiness of the wine, with its easy tannins and hints of older oak that fade quickly into the background.
Making for a very smart, easy-drinking Pinot Noir.
When a Pinot is done right!
Just a simple Duck Liver Pâté on wafers will do the trick.
