Mick created TAGG - The Alternative Gig Guide in 1979 with Helmut Katterl, the world's first real Street Magazine. He had been involved with his fathers publishing business, Toorak Times and associated publications since 1972.  Mick was also involved in Melbourne's music scene for a number of years opening venues, discovering and managing bands and providing information and support for the industry. Mick has also created a number of local festivals and is involved in not for profit and supporting local charities.

Opening & Prize Announcement this Friday

The Maggie Diaz Photography Prize for Women celebrates the work and life of American born, but long-time Melbourne resident and photographer Maggie Diaz.

Maggie Diaz is a trailblazer for Australian women photographers. This prize celebrates the work and life of American born, but long-time Melbourne resident and photographer, Maggie Diaz.

After arriving in Melbourne in 1961 Maggie established herself as one of the leading commercial photographers of her time, no small feat, when women were usually placed firmly in front of the camera.

All shortlisted entries will be exhibited as part of Maggie Diaz Projects Exhibition at BRIGHTSPACE.

A panel of 3 photographers and photographic professionals will select the winner.

The Maggie Diaz Photography Prize for Women is a biennial event now in its second year. 1st Prize is $5000 (non-acquisitive).

The prize is open to all women, and the winning photograph will show excellent use of available light.
