This is the third and penultimate program that features the Life and Times of Baby Boomer – Simon Rashleigh.

Born in the 1950’s, Simon has had a life-long career in many elements of the Australian music business, despite dipping his toe in and out of other careers in other industries.

In this program Simon shares more fascinating stories, stories of his work post his position at Festival records, but stories that continue to include connections with major overseas artists.

He includes among his lengthy list of friends and associates, AC/DC and Ozzy Osborne. This all resulted from his work as promotions manager for Sony Music.

To say Simon was busy would be an understatement. He finds time to get married and have two daughters one of which has an active career in the Australian opera side of music.

However, change is a constant feature of Simon’s life and he provides the story of how he moved out of music and into the TV and Film industries, where he had a successful career as a producer.

I have been with the Toorak Times since April 2012. I worked as Senior Editor of the Toorak Times until 2023, when I retired. I now work as a special features contributor for both the Toorak Times and Tagg. I've been in the Australian music scene as a musician since 1964, and have worked in radio and TV and newspapers (when they were actually printed on paper) as well as working in the film industry, as the Film Unit manager on Homicide for several years. I also have extensive experience in audio production and editing.
