listen to older voices: ron caddy – part 2

Welcome to Listen To Older Voices, a program produced by Rob Greaves and podcast through the Toorak Times and Tagg

This is the second and final part of the story of the Life and Times of Ron Caddy conducted in July 2007.

Born in 1920, Ron’s story gives us a snapshot of life in another time. In this program Ron continues his story of his work as part of the allied occupational forces at the end of WWII before moving onto his story of his life with his wife, Iris.

Iris – Right hand side

He and iris have a beautiful relationship and that comes through as Ron talks about her. In fact, at the time of this interview, they had been married for a wonderful 57 years.

Ron takes us through their highs and lows of his life, including his less than successful dairy farming venture where he and the cows simply did not see eye to eye.

In listening to his story about his family we understand why Ron and Iris had such a loving life together and it is a delight to have shared the journey they had.

Sadly, Ron passed away on Australia Day, January 26, 2008.
