Emerging from the shadows with a sound equal parts cinematic and soul-baring, Anglo-French trio LE BRUIT have officially dropped their debut 7-inch vinyl Idle Hands / Au Solde des Nuits via Rough Trade—ushering in a fresh wave of rock atmosphérique that’s already making international ripples.

Led by dual vocalists and songwriters Tom and Johanna, LE BRUIT crafts a sonic experience that feels both timeless and otherworldly. Their sound bridges ghostly post-rock swells, shoegaze textures, and raw, confessional songwriting. It’s music built for the quiet hours—the kind that doesn’t just play in the background, but takes up space in your chest.

The A-side, “Idle Hands”, drifts in with baritone guitar and gauzy percussion, pulling listeners into a landscape of identity, memory, and mystery. Named Absolute Radio UK’s “Self-Released Song of the Month” back in November 2024, the track earned presenter Danielle Perry’s praise for its “mystique, beautiful songwriting, and atmosphere.” It’s since received steady airplay across the UK, mainland Europe, and even college radio circuits in the U.S.

Flipping the record reveals “Au Solde des Nuits” (In the remains of the night), a bilingual nocturne that dips between French and English, light and shadow. Fragile yet defiantly intimate, the track is threaded with gospel harmonies and lyrical longing—perfect for solitary late-night listening. The band calls it “a song for when absence has weight,” and that weight hangs heavy in every note.

What sets LE BRUIT apart isn’t just their striking blend of genres, but the emotional and cinematic scope of their music. The dual vocals of Tom and Johanna don’t merely harmonize—they create tension, tenderness, and a sort of ghostly duality that lingers long after the final fadeout.

With Rough Trade backing their vinyl release and a growing cult following across key underground scenes, LE BRUIT is quickly positioning themselves as one of the most arresting new acts in the alt-rock/post-rock ether.

No gimmicks. No algorithm-chasing singles. Just two voices, one vision, and a sound that leaves a mark.
