Koorie Heritage Trust – reopening Monday 6 July

Mick created TAGG - The Alternative Gig Guide in 1979 with Helmut Katterl, the world's first real Street Magazine. He had been involved with his fathers publishing business, Toorak Times and associated publications since 1972.  Mick was also involved in Melbourne's music scene for a number of years opening venues, discovering and managing bands and providing information and support for the industry. Mick has also created a number of local festivals and is involved in not for profit and supporting local charities.        

The Koorie Heritage Trust (KHT) is to delighted to announce that it will re-open to the public on Monday 6 July 2020.

Adhering to the Victorian Chief Health Officer’s guidelines, KHT will implement a range of public health and social distancing measures to ensure the safety of visitors and staff. 

KHT will restrict visitor numbers, with only 20 visitors allowed into the building at any one time. 

We welcome members of the public to the current exhibition Affirmation now extended until Sunday 23 August 2020shopKOORIE and the self-guided tours of KHTs collection on level 3. 

During lock-down KHT implemented a range of online activities to keep connected – KHT Voices, a curated digital platform for the voice of our First Nations people and presents a series of short essays, interviews and stories about how communities are responding to the COVID-19 crisis. https://koorieheritagetrust.com.au/whats-on/kht-online/kht-voices/

KHT Online with virtual tours of the current exhibition Affirmation, zoom tour of Affirmation, zoom Q&A with Affirmation artists and a range of other activities.  https://koorieheritagetrust.com.au/whats-on/exhibitions/affirmation/

The Building Aboriginal Cultural Competency workshops for organisations, individuals and small groups are now available online.  The zoom workshops are delivered by KHTs experienced facilitators. https://koorieheritagetrust.com.au/visit-us/education/#cultural-competency

The popular Aboriginal Walking Tours will not re-open at this stage.
