?Dear Jazz Lovers,
We had a wonderful show last week with Charlotte Jane,(see image) keeping up the JMQ tradition of presenting the best
in town…and the beat goes on…
This THURSDAY, May 18, the show will start at 7.30pm, due to the opening night of the Palais Theatre (across road) – so
diners attending the Film Festival could get in our way for the stage set-up before 7pm. Our featured artist is Mel Searle.
MEL SEARLE is a gifted and distinctive Jazz vocalist. With an innate talent for vocal improvisation and a exquisite vocal
warmth and depth of tone, Mel's vocals are luminescent and empathetic. This evening she will honour the great
Women of Jazz, with the John Montesante Quintet at Phamish. Join Mel and the band as they journey through the
wonderful standards that helped shape the Jazz Songbook, along with the great musicianship of: Michael Harding,
Sam Anning, Carlo Alberto Canevali, Mirko Guerrini…
Doors 7pm. Live Jazz, 7.30pm. All Welcome!

***Next week, for ONE WEEK ONLY, JMQ Jazz will be on WEDNESDAY, May 24 at Phamish at 7pm, instead of
Thursday, and the week after all reverts back to Thursdays. We are also celebrating Paula's birthday….?
On MAY 24, JMQ is delighted to feature fine Jazzer, EMMA GILMARTIN. For some of you it may be the first time
you have experienced this terrific singer. One of the icons of Australian Jazz (Tony Gould) described her thus:
to lyrics, impeccable sense of pitch, a rare control of vibrato, and you have wonderful artistry. This is what I hear in
the singing of Emma Gilmartin. It all comes from her approach to both her art and her fellow human beings."
Emma will be supported by a stellar line up: Michael Harding, Sam Anning, Carlo Alberto Canevali, John Montesante…
Doors 6.30pm. Live Jazz WEDNESDAY 7pm.
Delicious Meals and Drinks throughout the evening.
Bookings: 9534 3800 or www.phamish.com.au
Everyone is welcome?
