Nichaud and Rebecca changed dates due to commitments, so this Thursday we feature one of Australia’s legendary singers REBECCA BARNARD, with multi-instrumentalist, ERIC BUDD. when we shall also be honouring band-leader JOHN MONTESANTE’s Birthday Celebration..
The name ‘Barnard’ is well-known in the Australian Music & Jazz scene, as Rebecca’s father Len was a jazz drummer, and uncle, Bob a highly regarded jazz trumpet stylist. She grew up listening to an eclectic mix of music and exposed to the best. While Rebecca is best know for her stunning versatility as a songwriter and singer, she also went back to her Jazz roots with her show. ‘Songs My Father Taught Me’ and it is those great jazz standards that were a soundtrack to her youth. Performing with this wonderful artist whose vocals always delight, the musicians shall be Eric Budd (trombone) Michael Harding (piano), David Hicks (drums), Tom Lee (bass), John Montesante (trumpet& flugel)
