Jack Colwell has released a heart-stopping remix of ‘Seek The Wild’ by Adelaide artist Lonelyspeck. It’s the latest striking re-configuration of Jack’s work, following acclaimed remixes in 2016 by HEALTH, Fennesz, Rabit, and more.
Lonelyspeck drew significant acclaim at the start of 2017 with his Lave EP and its distinctive blend of shoegaze, R&B, and electronica. Lead single ‘All My Skin On The Air’ quickly clocked up more than 700,000 streams on Spotify.
Lonelyspeck says: “It was interesting approaching ‘Seek The Wild’ because it has this kind of bouncy folk-pop feeling, which is so unlike what I’m used to working with. But Jack’s acappella really stands on its own and I could hear it driving something more slow and soulful. Most of the synth sounds are sampled from the violin parts in the original song.”
Jack has also announced a headline show as part of this year’s VIVID Festival in Sydney. Jack plays Golden Age Cinema & Bar on Saturday 17th June as part of its Live From The Golden Stage program, which also features Tim Wall (Royal Headache) and band-of-the-moment Body Type.
