IIMW 2026 Returns as India’s Most Ambitious Platform for Music Discovery

India International Music Week (IIMW) returns in 2026 with a renewed sense of purpose and scale, positioning itself not just as a conference or showcase, but as a defining meeting point for the future of global music exchange. Taking over Mumbai from 10–12 February, the second edition of IIMW arrives with a line-up and programme that reflect an industry increasingly shaped by cross-border collaboration, emerging voices, and cultural dialogue.

At the heart of IIMW 2026 is its carefully curated showcase line-up, bringing together more than 20 emerging artists from across India and the world. From Italy’s electronic auteur Agenda Dei Buoni Propositi to Spain’s explosive alt-rock outfit BELAKO, Indonesia’s psychedelic explorers Clever Moose to India’s own soul-funk favourites Easy Wanderlings, the bill reads like a snapshot of music’s global underground in motion. Elsewhere, electronic jazz collides with R&B, art-pop, folk, and experimental sounds, with artists such as Milan Ring, Jasmine Kiara, J-Silk, the Tamil Jazz Collective, Two Summ, and Neel Adhikari highlighting the festival’s genre-fluid, borderless ethos.

Rather than chasing headline names, IIMW’s strength lies in discovery. These are artists on the brink — musicians shaping new scenes, blending local identity with global perspective. Across two nights at antiSOCIAL and Epitome in Lower Parel, the showcase festival promises an immersive experience where audiences, tastemakers, and industry insiders can encounter what’s next, often before it breaks elsewhere.

Running alongside the live programme is IIMW Pro, the conference arm that cements the festival’s wider ambition. Hosted at the Museum of Solutions (MuSo), the two-day conference brings together industry leaders, policymakers, and creatives from over 30 countries to tackle the realities of today’s music business, from AI and royalties to touring infrastructure, festival models, and the rise of hyper-engaged micro-communities in India. The presence of major global organisations alongside Indian institutions underlines IIMW’s growing influence as a serious platform for trade, dialogue, and long-term collaboration.

More than anything, IIMW 2026 feels like a moment of arrival. As India’s music ecosystem expands outward and the global industry looks inward with renewed curiosity, the festival captures a sense of momentum, confident, outward-facing, and rooted in cultural exchange. For artists, it’s a gateway. For industry, a meeting ground. And for audiences, a rare chance to witness the sound of tomorrow taking shape in real time, in one of the world’s most dynamic cities.
