Goulburn Valley Country Festival organisers have announced the return of the music festival in 2023, confirming the event date for Saturday 1st April 2023. After a huge inaugural festival earlier in 2022, headlined by Lee Kernaghan, organisers were overwhelmed by the phenomenal support they received from the local Shepparton and surrounding community. The line-up for the 2023 Goulburn Valley Country Festival will be announced in the coming weeks, and from all reports, audiences are in for a treat.
Organised by Red Hill Entertainment, who are also responsible for the Gippsland Country Music Festival, the launch of a country festival in the Goulburn Valley region was always meant to support great local music, as well as bring some of the best Australian country performers to town.
Red Hill Entertainment’s Aidan McLaren said the inaugural festival was everything they had hoped. “What a day our inaugural festival was,” he said. “There was perfect weather, an awesome country audience and all of the musicians were amazing. We really couldn’t have asked for much more as part of our first-year event. Everything came together so well, and the vibe was really special. To have the local community come out and support live music in a celebration of country was fantastic to see. We had so much positive feedback afterwards and are excited to bring Goulburn Valley Country Festival back to Shepparton in 2023.”
Aidan said how the local community had embraced Goulburn Valley Country Festival was key to the event’s success. “The support from the community has been immense, and we’re really grateful for that,” he said. “We were overwhelmed by the positive response from the Goulburn Valley community, and we are so proud to celebrate all of the incredible talent that Shepparton has. Country music fans travel from all across Victoria, and we can’t wait to keep on showcasing everything Shepparton has to offer. Our dream is that the Goulburn Valley Country Festival exists for the next 20-plus years celebrating all things country, and the beautiful Goulburn Valley region.”
As for the plan for 2023, Aidan said the festival will not only celebrate all things country, but it will be bigger and better than last time. “We’re really excited,” said Aidan. “We’ve already locked in a bunch of amazing artists and are excited to also be adding even more non-musical elements to the event next year as well. I can’t say much more than that at this stage, other than it truly will be a celebration of all things country! There are also a lot of local people, local businesses and community groups involved in making the event happen and it’s wonderful that it has been a success and lots of people can benefit from it in the future.”
The 2023 Goulburn Valley Country Festival will be held on Saturday 1st April 2023. Details on the line-up and how to buy tickets will be announced in the coming weeks.
