With a large ensemble of singers and a gospel choir set up, Gospolation is a moovy, groovy musical production where the vocals do the talking, so GET DOWN!

Gospolation secularizes gospel music and creates a unique genre of music. By merging gospel with funk, soul, pop and R&B within a choral ensemble, Gospolation becomes a funky- soul sound healing experience. A silver lined choir that consists of a multitude of voices that bling and sing along with choreographed, groovy moves that create synchronicity and synergy in a complete vocal spectrum. A flawless array of vocals and backing vocals, Altos, Sopranos, Tenors and Bases, all working together in perfect harmony, each voice separate and together, singing in unison to create an orchestra of vocals that become sounds of musical instruments. Listening to my all time favourites revised, remixed, then taken to another level and brought back to ground, Gospolation can be described as an elevating experience. Wooh Yeah!

The gorgeous Charmaine Jones-Devasagayam (Monash University) directs and conducts the act as well as bringing her dynamic voice and stylishly fierce presence to the stage while setting the groove, shaking it and working up the audience like a true queen of soul.

As the night rolls on we listen to an endless list of all time favourite songs by Aretha Franklyn, Earth Wind and Fire, Bee Gees, Kirk Franklin, Israel Houghton, Hezekiah Walker, Michael Jackson, Justin Timberlake, Beyoncé and even Prince amongst others. By now the crowd is into the groove. We sink our soul into our seats while singing along and moving in sync with the choir and think of where to go and boogie after the show. The crowd cheers on, and I hear a voice yell out, “Outstanding!!!”
