Sean Riley & The Water (USA)

New Orleans-based singer, songwriter, and guitarist Sean Riley makes record-worthy music anywhere he goes; in the clubs, in the studio, on the streets, and even in his living room. His music is deep delta blues rock in equal parts, conjuring the delta blues spirit of Bukka White, Muddy Waters, and New Orleans blues greats Snooks Eaglin and Slim Harpo. Riley’s songs speaks to love, loss, and missteps. Riley has toured internationally and plays weekly in New Orleans. He attributes his love for the Crescent City for providing him with the motivation to create new music as well as honor the rich culture of the city.

Riley’s newest release “Stone Cold Hands” has been well received by blues and roots audiences and aficionados. The album is in heavy rotation on radio worldwide and recently reached no. 7 on the Billboard Blues charts. Supporting on the night is Kaliopi & The Blues Messengers.

Hugo Race & Michelangelo Russo – Album Launch + Hungry Ghosts (J.P. Shilo & Tim Howden)

Hugo Race (Dirtmusic, Fatalists, ex-Bad Seeds) and Michelangelo Russo (True Spirit), fuse rock, blues, ambient and electronic sounds on their raw, compelling new album “100 Years”.

In 2017, the duo released John Lee Hooker’s World Today (Glitterhouse/Gusstaff Records), a tribute to the blues legend’s delta blues legacy reinvented in a swirling mix of analog grit and deep trance pulses.

100 Years showcases the duo’s sonic chemistry against Race’s stark songwriting. Inspired by the raw majesty of early blues recordings, the album was recorded in two days in a non-stop live session. Amplified harmonica, open-tuned guitars, smoky vocals and primal foot beat walk us through a landscape of dreamlike
devastation, a hypnotic wall of sound suspended in time and space celebrating endurance and redemption, hand-made from ancient roots. Supporting on the night are Hungry Ghosts – J.P. Shilo & Tim Howden.
